Job SummaryOur client, a leading International Sports Marketing Firm, is supporting multiple high-profile projects connected to the FIFA Women's World Cup 2027 . They are seeking an experienced Project Financial Controller / Project Accountant to play a critical role in the financial delivery of these projects.This role partners closely with Project leadership to ensure robust financial control, accurate budgeting, profitability analysis, and full compliance with local legal and tax requirements. You will provide both commercial and operational finance support while coordinating with international finance teams and local professional advisors.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Financial ManagementMaintain and control client budgets, including detailed reporting and variance analysisMonitor project financial performance and profitability across individual project elementsTrack and report budget status for internal management and group reportingProduce sensitivity and scenario analysis as required by senior leadershipCommercial & Operational SupportProvide ongoing commercial finance support to Project Managers and Project DirectorsInterpret and apply commercial terms within client and supplier contractsOversee client invoicing processes and manage cash collectionCash & Working Capital ManagementMaintain strict cash controls and oversight of working capitalPrepare and manage weekly project cashflow forecasts for group submissionAct as a key liaison with local banking providersCompliance & GovernanceEnsure adherence to group financial controls, processes, and policiesManage and ensure compliance with Brazilian tax regulations, including withholding and import dutiesWork closely with local professional advisors to address legal, tax, and regulatory requirementsShared Services & Cross‐Functional CollaborationLiaise with international shared service centres to ensure efficient financial operationsSupport cost coding, allocation, approvals, and financial data accuracyAssist with supplier onboarding in coordination with shared service teamsPayroll & HR SupportSupport preparation and execution of local payrollCollaborate with HR and professional advisors on monthly payroll processesRequired Qualifications & ExperienceFully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)Fluent in both English and Portuguese (written and spoken)Proven experience in project accounting or working within project-led environmentsStrong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret and manage contract termsSolid knowledge of Brazilian laws, tax rules, and business practicesExperience operating in a multi-currency environmentAdvanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilityExperience with Workday is desirableKey CompetenciesHighly analytical with strong attention to detailConfident communicator able to engage effectively with senior project leadersProactive, self-motivated, and solutions-focused mindsetComfortable working in a fast-paced, international project environmentOpen to feedback with a continuous improvement mindsetAppy Today or contact Dylan Piekarski at as our client is scheduling interviews now!
