Responsibilities and assignments
Responsible for structuring, implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving the integrity and compliance program, with a focus on preventing, detecting, and responding to legal, regulatory, ethical, and reputational risks related to the company’s operations in Brazil.
Functions:
- Promote a strong culture of ethics and integrity across all company operations in Brazil.
- Design, implement, and maintain a compliance and integrity program aligned with applicable Brazilian laws, regulations, and industry standards, and headquarters’ policies and procedures, including the drafting and review of internal compliance policies and procedures.
- Identify, assess, and continuously monitor compliance risks.
- Develop, review, implement, and enforce the internal Code of Ethics, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct third-party due diligence processes for partners and strategic suppliers and prepare compliance risk reports.
- Manage the confidential whistleblower channel (Ethics Channel), ensuring proper handling of reports and conducting internal investigations as required, and present investigation outcomes to the Compliance Committee.
- Coordinate compliance training programs for employees and strategic suppliers or service providers, including the development of training materials and the delivery of training sessions.
- Prepare and manage compliance communication campaigns, including content for the website and intranet.
- Monitor compliance performance through indicators and continuous oversight of high-risk operations and projects.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients’ compliance-related inquiries.
- Report findings, risk assessments, and recommendations to senior management, maintaining independence and objectivity.
- Lead remediation actions in response to compliance incidents and support continuous improvement of internal controls and processes.
- Act as a liaison in compliance matters related to construction projects involving partners and joint operations.
- Review compliance documents and contractual documents regarding compliance-related matters. Serve as the main interface with the headquarters’ compliance team.
Requirements and qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; postgraduate education in Compliance, Governance, or Risk Management.
- Proven experience of at least three years in compliance, legal, audit, or risk management roles, preferably within construction, infrastructure, or energy sectors.
- Knowledge of anti-corruption and compliance laws, with practical experience in implementing ISO standards, preferably ISO 37301 or 37001.
- Ability to work with limited supervision, practice active listening, operate independently, handle sensitive matters with confidentiality, and interact effectively with senior leadership and operational teams.
- Excellent communication and training skills in Portuguese and English; Chinese language skills are a plus.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to think strategically while maintaining attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn, adaptability, and openness to different cultures and working environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, digital and AI-based tools, and platforms used for training delivery and training evaluation.
