We are looking for an Intermodal Manager to drive inland logistics operations, optimize multimodal solutions, and support the development of efficient and competitive transportation services across Brazil.
This role is essential to ensuring operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and sustainable growth of intermodal activities while maintaining strong cost control and service reliability.
Role Purpose
The Intermodal Manager is responsible for managing inland logistics solutions from design to operational delivery, ensuring the best cost-benefit balance for both the company and its customers. The position acts as a key interface between commercial, operational, logistics, and customer service teams, contributing to the expansion and optimization of intermodal business activities.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Customer Management
• Maintain close relationships with internal and external customers, understanding business needs and logistics requirements.
• Identify opportunities to expand inland and intermodal services within the regional market.
• Participate in the development of action plans to strengthen intermodal activities and product offerings.
• Act as the focal point for operational problem-solving involving customers and suppliers.
• Maintain pricing and quotation controls to ensure market competitiveness and rate validity.
• Ensure visibility of regional market information through internal commercial tools and reporting systems.
• Produce regular reports regarding volume performance, profitability, and project development status.
• Develop and update new logistics solutions, inland products, and operational strategies.
• Maintain regular communication with Commercial teams to align on inland and hub solutions being sold.
Inland Operations Control
• Ensure high-quality logistics services in line with operational standards and customer expectations.
• Monitor inland operations through supplier performance reports and implement corrective measures when required.
• Manage empty and full container stock levels at inland terminals, coordinating repositioning activities with Logistics teams.
• Act as the liaison between customers and suppliers to guarantee service execution within agreed deadlines.
• Register operations in internal systems before transport execution to avoid extra or unplanned costs.
• Analyze invoice discrepancies and resolve operational or financial disputes with suppliers.
• Maintain updated operational databases, records, and control systems.
Leadership & Team Coordination
• Lead and support operational and commercial teams to ensure high performance and engagement.
• Coordinate daily activities, workload prioritization, and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Provide coaching and technical guidance related to logistics operations and customer management.
• Monitor KPIs and operational indicators, implementing improvement plans when necessary.
• Promote collaboration between Commercial, Logistics, Customer Service, Finance, and Operations teams.
• Support onboarding, training, and continuous development initiatives for team members.
• Encourage a customer-oriented and solution-driven culture within the organization.
• Contribute to strategic discussions and operational decision-making processes.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and safety standards.
Management Scope
• Coordination of inland logistics and intermodal operational activities across Brazil.
• Strong interaction with internal stakeholders and external logistics partners.
• Participation in strategic development and optimization of multimodal solutions.
Profile Requirements
• Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, Foreign Trade, or related fields.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in intermodal transportation, warehousing, or container logistics operations.
• Strong knowledge of inland transportation, supply chain, and multimodal logistics processes.
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills; ability to work with logistics and CRM systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with operational and commercial focus.
• Advanced English and Portuguese required.
