The Role: Trader Job Summary: The Trader is responsible for supporting and executing coffee trading activities, contributing to the development of trading positions, and identifying market opportunities. Operating with moderate autonomy, this role combines commercial execution with analytical thinking, playing a key part in expanding the company's presence and performance in the green coffee market. Responsibilities: • Coordinate and execute the coffee trading flow, including supplier mapping and market opportunities identification. • Contribute to the development and execution of trading strategies in alignment with short- and long-term commercial objectives. • Support the build-out and management of trading positions, as well as inventory-based spot sales. • Maintain and develop relationships with suppliers and customers to support volume growth and profitability. • Monitor market trends and contribute to the global team with insights related to supply and demand, balance sheets, pricing, and industry developments. • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including new suppliers and customers within the green coffee market. • Assist in price discussions and offer evaluations, ensuring alignment with market conditions and internal guidelines. • Coordinate closely with Risk, Logistics, Quality, and Operations teams to ensure smooth execution of contracts and trading activities. • Ensure contracts are accurate, up to date, and compliant with company policies and agreed terms. • Prepare regular reports and maintain accurate data in company systems. • Support internal knowledge sharing by informing colleagues about market developments, trading opportunities, and supplier insights. • Represent the company in meetings, conferences, and industry events when required. • Travel when necessary to strengthen relationships with key suppliers and customers. • Contribute to company initiatives such as sustainability programs and continuous improvement of trading practices. • Perform other related duties as requested by the manager. Job Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Foreign Trade, International Business, Agribusiness, or a related field; • Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar roles; • Knowledge of the stock market; • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office; • Fluent in Portuguese and English (additional languages are a plus); • Availability for national and international travel.
