YOUR ROLE
Support CAPEX purchasing and contracting for port equipment and port infrastructure works within a container terminal, ensuring competitiveness, compliance, and risk mitigation aligned with corporate governance. In addition, support OPEX procurement, with a strong focus on spare parts and maintenance supplies. Act as the operational and cultural bridge between Brazil-based initiatives and the Head Office in France, ensuring strategic alignment, process standardization, and full visibility of the CAPEX, OPEX and innovation pipeline.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ?
CAPEX Procurement — Port Equipment
- Support sourcing and contracting port equipment (e.g., STS cranes, RTG/RMG, terminal tractors, reach stackers, spreaders, power and automation systems, critical spares).
- Support RFI/RFQ/RFP processes: gather requirements with Engineering, Operations and Maintenance; consolidate technical specs; perform bid equalization.
- Build TCO/LCC analyses (Total Cost of Ownership / Life Cycle Cost) covering CAPEX, OPEX, maintenance, uptime, energy consumption, warranty and local support.
- Support negotiations on commercial terms, warranties, SLAs, penalties, delivery schedules, commissioning and acceptance criteria.
- Support CAPEX contract drafting and administration jointly with Legal and technical stakeholders.
Engineering Interface — R&D and New Technologies
- Support market intelligence and tech scouting for productivity and safety improvements: automation, digitalization, IoT/telemetry, predictive maintenance, electrification, OCR, TOS optimization, equipment upgrades, anti-sway/anti-collision systems, etc.
- Map global and local vendors (technology maturity/TRL, scalability, integration requirements, reference sites).
- Support PoCs/pilots: scope, success criteria, budget, governance, lessons learned and roll-out recommendations.
OPEX Support — Spare Parts (Maintenance & Operations)
- Support OPEX purchasing related to spare parts and maintenance materials for critical terminal assets (mobile equipment and cranes, automation, electrical and mechanical systems).
- Contribute to new supplier development (local and global) for parts and components: scouting, qualification, capability assessment, lead time, quality, traceability and after-sales support.
- Execute benchmarking with the Head Office team in France and other terminals/ports to identify best practices on: part standardization, equivalent alternatives (cross-referencing), dual sourcing strategies, framework agreements, consignment, and stock optimization.
- Support criticality and cost analyses (e.g., ABC classification, operational criticality, obsolescence), together with Maintenance/Warehouse teams to reduce stock-outs and total costs.
- Support negotiations and improved OPEX terms: pricing, lead times, payment terms, delivery SLAs, warranty and quality performance.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR ?
- In accordance with the provisions of Article L122-1 of the National Service Code, only candidates aged 18 to 28 and European nationals are eligible for this mission offered as a VIE.
- Master degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, International Trade or related fields.
- Early experience (intern/graduate/trainee) in procurement, CAPEX projects, engineering, maintenance or infrastructure; exposure to maintenance/warehouse supply chain is a plus.
- Languages: Advanced English and Portuguese preferred (expected to develop)
- Profile: analytical, structured, strong communication, multicultural adaptability, ethical mindset, results-driven and continuous improvement oriented.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office pack with high level of autonomy on Excel and Powerpoint. Knowledge of PowerBI and AI tools is beneficial
